Second Harvest

As we think ahead to the holiday family gatherings we will be having with our loved ones, we should think about those who are not as fortunate. This has been a tough year for everyone. With job losses due to the economy, there are even more families going without this year. Let’s make their holidays brighter by giving a little something from our pantries. A representative from Second Harvest will be at our November meeting collecting non-perishable items such as those provided on their “wish list” below:

Canned fruit
Canned vegetables
Soups
Cereal
Mac and cheese
Canned meats (tuna, salmon, chicken)
Peanut butter and Jelly
Pasta
Canned and bottled juices
Fruit and pudding cups
Personal care items such as diapers, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc

Did you know that with every 19 cents collected, Second Harvest can purchase one pound of food? Would you consider setting out a can at your workplace to collect change from your coworkers for Second Harvest? Every little bit helps. Please bring your donations to the November SHRMA meeting at the Holiday Inn on Leffel Lane, on Thursday, November 12th. Let’s help make the holidays brighter for others less fortunate.
