PHR/SPHR Study Group
Are you considering taking your career to the next level with a PHR or SPHR certification? Would you like to get together with fellow HR professionals with the same goal in mind? Great! Join us!
Research has shown that studying with others and holding each other accountable aids in learning retention. For this purpose, SHRMA has formed a PHR/SPHR study group. We know studying for certification is a daunting task, and we want to help you in this process. Join us and let’s study together! We will get together with our facilitator, Rosemary Rulka, M.S., SPHR, for at least seven meetings (two weeks apart) on Saturday mornings from 9:30 – 11:30 am at WorkPlus in Springfield.
Meeting dates are as follows: July 31st, August 14th, August 28th, September 11th, September 25th, October 9th, October 23rd, and November 13th. HRCI applications for the PHR/SPHR tests are accepted July 12th through October 8th, 2010. Late applications are accepted October 9th through November 12th, 2010. HRCI Test dates are December 1, 2010 through January 31, 2011. You should refer to the HRCI website at www.HRCI.org for further information.

About our facilitator, Ms. Rulka:
Rosemary is the owner and President of R.C. Rulka Consulting, LLC. Rosemary has over 20 years of experience in Management, Human Resources and Training.
Rosemary earned her BA in Human Resource Management from Capital University and her M.S. from Central Michigan University with a concentration in Administration and Organizational Behavior. Ms. Rulka is a current member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society, a Professional Member of SHRM, and a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources Management. *
Prior to forming her own company, Rosemary held positions as Corporate University Director and Regional HR Director for CBS Personnel Services. Ms. Rulka has also performed consulting work for Drake Beam Morin and held several management positions with Sears Roebuck Company including Operations, Merchandising, Store Management, and Human Resources Management. She also taught Human Resources Management classes for 9 years at Capital University.
