What is shrma?
SHRMA is the Springfield Human Resources Management Association. It is a certified chapter of SHRM, The Society for Human Resources Management. SHRMA is a progressive and professional organization attracting the Springfield area’s top human resources and industrial relations professionals into its membership since 1943. Our chapter is the leading voice of the human resources profession locally. We provide education, recognition, resources and networking opportunities locally and regionally. Membership in our chapter is the most recognizable symbol of your contribution and commitment to the human resources profession.

Beatrice (Bea) Smith has been a member of SHRMA for many years serving various positions on the SHRMA Board. Her current position as President makes her responsible for overseeing all the activities of the Chapter. Bea’s focus for SHRMA is to provide opportunities for SHRMA members to increase their professional knowledge and opportunities for education credits by providing knowledgeable speakers who will bring valuable information the SHRMA membership can use immediately. |

Amy is a hiring coordinator for OIC of Clark County. Her primary focus is working with local companies to help them retain and attract talented employees, and working closely with the local economic development team in attracting new businesses to the Springfield/Clark County area. She takes pride in being involved in various community groups and activities such as SHRMA, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Group, Leadership Clark County and the local United Way. Amy is a Bowling Green State University. Amy is a past president of SHRMA, and currently serves as the Membership Chair on the SHRMA Advisory Board. Her job is to increase SHRMA’s membership and assist current and perspective members in learning more about how SHRMA is a benefit to both the member and his or her company. Jacky is the HR Specialist at Gordon Food Service. Over her 12 years with the company, she has held several roles, having been in the HR field for the last four years. She earned her Professional of Human Resources certification in 2006 and has been a SHRMA member for four years. |
Rita Sneed | |

SHRMA Community/External Relations Chair

Rita Sneed is co-owner of ARC Staffing Solutions, a full service staffing agency serving Springfield and surrounding counties. Rita has over 20 years of experience in the staffing industry. As VP of Sales, her primary focus at ARC Staffing is the development of new sales and building strong partnerships with her customers. Rita is a life long resident of Springfield and has been involved with SHRMA for many years. Her current board position is that of Community/External Relations Chair. She serves as the liaison with the Chamber of Commerce, business organizations, business news writers, and other community groups. She will also recommend community projects to be supported by our chapter and will make chapter members aware of community organizations that would be beneficial to HR professionals. Rita also enjoys serving as an Ambassador for the Springfield Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Junior Achievement Board.

Secretary/Media Chair

Teresa Homer is a Human Resources Manager at a telecommunications company located in Champaign County. Teresa serves SHRMA as Secretary and interim Media Chair. As secretary, she records the business activities of the SHRMA Board. As interim Media Chair, she forwards information gathered from Board members and the membership and submits it to the SHRMA website administrator for web site updates. |

Immediate Past President

As Immediate Past President of SHRMA, it is Julie’s duty to assist the Chapter’s President by providing advice and guidance with planning Board and Member activities. Julie is HR Manager with Community Mercy Health Partners. She has been with the organization for four years and thoroughly enjoys being a member of the Clark County business community. Julie obtained her Professional in Human Resources certification in 2006 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Business, HR Management. She is pursuing a Masters in Business Administration. Julie’s career in HR started at the assistant level and she has held many titles within the HR profession in the past decade. She has been everything from an international nurse recruiter to recruitment manager and HR Generalist. |
